An Anglican Addington church
St Mary’s Church is uniquely positioned in the centre of Church Square, Addington, Christchurch.
A heritage church
Like its neighbourhood, St Mary’s has undergone many changes, progressing from a small temporary church in an enclosed square to today’s heritage building in its open and accessible grounds.
A welcoming community
We are an inclusive, welcoming Christian community, who meet for worship and fellowship in the heritage church in Church Square. New Zealand songs, traditional hymns and songs from the Celtic and Taizé traditions enrich our Sunday morning Holy Communion 8.30am(followed by light breakfast) and at 10.30am Parish Eucharist. Taize and other Contemplative services are held at 7pm on the third Sunday of each month(March-December).
A church with strong links here and abroad
Parishioners actively support many Addington neighbourhood community service groups and the international development organisation Christian World Service.
