The Addington Heritage Evening is pleased to be part of the Beca Heritage week programme for 2019 and this a free event and all are welcome.
We will gather to listen to John Wilson’s talk about his updating of the 1984 book “Lost Christchurch”(with some reference to Addington),John Newman(“Memory Lane”)-John had a career as a projectionist in the many early movie theatres in Christchurch and also has an extensive record/movie collection, Arnie van Bussel has been(and still is)an iconic record engineer and has ran his own studio for over 40 years, there will also be a demonstration of the Addington Heritage phone app and music will be provided by Patrick Doyle and friends(some Neil Young music-40 years since “Rust Never Sleeps”).
We will finish off the evening with tea, coffee, buns and shared stories.
This event is a co-operative effort between St.Mary’s, the Addington Neighbourhood Association with support from Beca and the Christchurch City Council Heritage team.
